Last week, CoPrint Housing had the honor of attending 3D DAYS 2026 at the Citadelle des Savoir-Faire — and we came home more convinced than ever of what’s possible for housing right here in Metro Detroit.
A Room Full of People Building the Future
3D DAYS brings together some of the most forward-thinking people in additive construction — the engineers, founders, and manufacturers pushing the boundaries of what concrete and robotics can do. Between live on-site demonstrations, next-generation technology showcases, and hours of conversation with industry leaders, we spent the week surrounded by exactly the kind of innovation that made us start this company in the first place.
Seeing the technology run in person — not in a rendering or a spec sheet, but laying real material in real time — is a different kind of education. It reinforced that 3D-printed construction isn’t a someday idea. It’s here, it’s working, and it’s advancing fast.
Why It Matters Back Home
Our mission has always been to bring forward-thinking, scalable housing solutions to our local communities. So we didn’t experience 3D DAYS as tourists — we experienced it with Metro Detroit in mind. With every demonstration, we were asking the same question: how does this help us build homes faster, more affordably, and more durably for the families here who need them most?
The international advancements we saw didn’t pull our focus away from home. They sharpened it. The gap between where the technology is globally and what’s being built in the Midwest is exactly the gap we exist to close.
What We’re Bringing Back
We came home with more than good memories. We’re bringing back new insights into how leading teams are printing and scaling, new tools and approaches we can put to work on our own projects, and — most importantly — new relationships with people who share our belief in what this technology can do. Every one of those has strengthened our commitment to making an impact here at home.
